The CARING consortium involves 9 parteners: OpenAirlines, Airlinair, ENAC, EnvIsa, ICON Consulting, FNAM, SustainAvia, Transavia.com, and TUI Travel.

OpenAirlines is a Young Innovative Company dedicated to the airline industry and created by former airline managers. It is based in Toulouse, France, heart of the European Aviation industry. OpenAirlines provides guidance on optimizing the operations of the company in particular in the ops domain (Flights ops, Crew, OCC…), and setting-up operational IT systems to support them.

Airlinair, French regional airline company and first European operator of ATR 42/72 turboprop aircrafts with a fleet of 23 planes puts its customers and the high commercial standards it set to itself at the heart of its strategy. It is based in Paris and operates 130 flights a day and 45 000 hours of flight per year and deserves many French secondary airports or remote regions. Airlinair is very involved in the Environment preservation. Airlinair has engaged a “Bilan Carbon” to measure its environmental footprint. Its fleet of modern turboprop aircraft is one of the most fuel-efficient.

ENAC, The mission of L’Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile is to provide ab-initio and further training for the executives and main players of the civil aviation world. This genuine University of Civil Aviation offers a wide range of activities which are tailored to meet the requirements of the public and private sectors both in France and in other countries. Based in Toulouse, France, ENAC is one of the top engineering schools in the world devoted to the airline industry. ENAC has a number of well renowned research labs, among them the Air Transport Economics Lab. This lab builds and promotes fundamental research in air transport economics: analysis and prospects of air transport in the context of the new regulatory conditions, congestion of airspace and definition of rates, traffic forecasting… The Lab owns also a database on flows of traffic (“Air Transport Data”) together at the airports level and at the airlines.

ENVISA is an environmental research and consultancy company focusing on noise, emissions, economics and sustainability for the transportation industry, with emphasis on the aviation sector. It is based in Paris, France. ENVISA brings innovative solutions to worldwide manufacturers, operators, regulators and administrative organizations to overcome the environmental challenges of traffic growth.

ICON Consulting is a management and technology consulting company, based in London with clients in the UK and throughout Europe. ICON provides services including business strategy, stakeholder support, performance measurement and process management. ICON also undertakes programme and commercial management, and the setting up and management of complete change programmes.

FNAM, The Fédération Nationale de l’Aviation Marchande (FNAM) is the association of French air transport professionals. It represents more than 370 enterprises (airlines, airports, handlers, etc.) that contribute to air transportation. It is based in Paris, France. It promotes social dialogue, job creation and training, flight safety, flight security, competitiveness, and sustainable development.

SustainAvia is an international aviation consultancy dedicated to the Aviation EU ETS. It is based in Paris, France. SustainAvia assists airlines in making their way through the complexity and the challenges of Aviation ETS. SustainAvia’s goal is to make it easier for airlines to understand, comply with and minimize the burden of Aviation ETS. SustainAvia offers a wide range of Aviation ETS-related services including financial impact analysis of EU ETS, preparation and implementation of the EU ETS monitoring plans, emissions abatement strategies, competitive impact, pricing, network and fleet strategy, carbon market trading strategy.

Transavia.com France is subsidiary of Transavia.com Netherlands and Air France. It offers scheduled flight to leisure destinations from France and the Netherlands and its business model is a mix of Low-cost and Charter Company. It operates 7 Boeing 737-800 from Paris Orly (30 from the Netherlands). Transavia.com France is active on the Environment preservation and has led experimental Continuous Descent Approaches (CDA) at Orly Airport.

TUI Travel employs approximately 50,000 people and operates a pan-European airline consisting of over 150 aircraft. The company mainly serves the leisure travel customer and is organised and managed through four business sectors: Mainstream, Specialist & Emerging Markets, Activity and Accommodation & Destinations. It is based in London, UK. TUI Travel embeds 7 airlines from 6 European countries and Morocco: ArkeFly (NL), CorsairFly (F), JetairFly (B), Thomson Airways (UK), TUIFly (D), TUIFly Nordic (S), Jet4U (MA). The member airlines operate scheduled flights as well as charter flights to more than 150 destinations worldwide (medium haul and long haul) departing from more than 60 airports in 9 European countries. It operates 135 aircrafts (6 different aircraft types), with a mix of single aisle and long range aircrafts.
